Overview
Pourfect is an assistive kitchen tool designed specifically for the elderly population. It addresses the challenge of precise liquid measurement and pouring, which can become difficult due to reduced dexterity or vision. The project emphasizes dignity and independence in the kitchen.
Approach
Working closely with a group of elderly participants, we conducted co-design workshops to identify pain points in cooking routines. The solution combines an ergonomic handle design with a smart tilting mechanism that provides haptic and auditory feedback when the desired measurement is reached.
Deliverables
The final deliverable is a high-fidelity prototype of the smart pouring device, accompanying user manual designed for accessibility, and a report detailing the co-design process and user testing results.
